WASPI stands for Women Against State Pension Inequality. Approximately 3.6 million women born in the 1950s were affected by State Pension age changes without adequate notice.
The PHSO Investigation
The Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman found the DWP failed to properly inform women. Recommended Level 4 compensation (£1,000-£2,950) for affected women.

Government Position
The UK Government has not yet confirmed any compensation scheme. The DWP argued compensation at Level 3 (below £1,000) would be "consistent" with previous payouts.
Campaigners' Demands
WASPI campaigners are demanding Level 6 compensation (£10,000 or more). The judicial review is ongoing — the High Court challenge against the government's decision is pending.
